Materiae: the new collection by Mediterranea Design Studio.

We are pleased to announce our presence at Maison & Objet Paris 2026, one of the leading international fairs dedicated to design, furniture, and interior innovation.

From January 15 to 19, 2026, in Paris, the Studio will unveil Materiae, the new collection, presented in exclusive preview at the fair.
Materiae marks a new chapter in Mediterranea Design’s ongoing research into material intelligence, digital craftsmanship, and contemporary sustainable design, reaffirming our role within Italian design culture.

More than a simple collection, it is an exploration: a dialogue with matter itself, where form emerges through listening, and technology becomes a tool for interpretation rather than control.

Materiae: the new collection by Mediterranea Design Studio.

The new collection includes seating, stools, tables, coffee tables, vases, and wall decorations, conceived not as static objects but as living presences within space.

Designed for residential, hospitality, and collective environments, these elements interact with light, touch, and movement, establishing a silent yet intense relationship with their surroundings.
Surfaces invite contact. Volumes feel natural, never rigid. Each piece carries a subtle sensuality, never explicit, but perceptible, rooted in the material itself.
Materiae inhabits space with measured presence, designed to endure over time, visually, physically, and emotionally.

Materiae unfolds through four chromatic worlds, each inspired by a natural element and conceived as a distinct emotional language:

- Magma: intense and energetic, evoking fire through deep tones and dynamic surfaces.
- Nebula: light and ethereal, reflecting the softness and suspension of air
- Thermae: fluid and contemplative, recalling the calm movement of water.
- Terrae: grounded and tactile, expressing the solidity and depth of earth.

These palettes make it possible to construct atmospheres, rhythms, and moods, shaping spaces in harmony with their context.
Color thus becomes a tool for designing experience.

Materiae is the result of continuous investigation into material intelligence, a concept that considers material not as something passive, but as a reactive and expressive presence.

Through computational design and additive manufacturing, Mediterranea Design develops forms born from the balance between intuition and precision, digital control and sensory perception.

“Each piece is shaped through a dialogue between technology and human sensitivity. Algorithms define structure and rhythm, while matter determines surface, density, and tactility.” says Amleto Picerno Ceraso, founder of Mediterranea Design.
“The result is a collection in which matter speaks and technology listens, allowing form to emerge naturally rather than being imposed.”
This process reflects Mediterranea Design’s distinctive approach to digital craftsmanship, where innovation enhances, rather than replaces, the expressive power of design.

We look forward to welcoming you from January 15 to 19 at Parc des Expositions de Villepinte, Paris (Hall 1, Stand F82), for a new design experience.
